Jenny Lemons Textile Design at Rare Bird in Oakland, CA

Learn the basics of textile design to create your own printed jersey dress. In this workshop, everyone will learn how to carve a rubber stamp with their own design, apply ink, print, and add additional details with fabric paint and a paint brush. We will discuss different ways of creating a repetitive pattern, basic color theory, and how to make sure your print lasts forever. In this class, we will focus on printing on fabric, but the techniques learned can translate to many other materials, like paper, clothing, and wood. Once you learn, you won't want to stop! The possibilities are endless and make great gifts! All supplies are included and every student will leave with their custom block and their printed dress.

This class is open to only 12 people.  Register early.

Jennie Lennick

Jennie Lennick is a San Francisco based artist, entrepreneur, and teacher. As a child in the Midwest, Jennie became enamored with traditional domestic craft, learning to sew and embroider. In 2010, She moved to the Bay Area to attend the San Francisco Art Institute, where she studied painting. Inspired by the natural beauty of Northern California, Jennie launched Jenny Lemons (, a collection of modern block printed and hand painted women’s clothing and textiles. Jennie's work has been featured in publications like the San Francisco Chronicle, Brit + Co, and San Francisco Magazine. When not working in her studio, Jennie leads fiber art workshops all over the Bay Area.
